Yesterday Is Just A RemiNder Of How Great Today Is

Have you ever been at the end of a transformation and all the old stuff comes up just check and see if you’re really ready to move on?

Not old opportunities or people. No, that was the beginning of your transformation. I mean the old parts of your personality. Your old character. She introduces herself to new territory and new relationships.  

She greets them and you have to tell your new friends, “I know you see a glimpse of a part of who I used to be. Please don’t hold that against me. I’m walking into new territory and each day is practice for the next.”

Whoever belongs in your next era is built with the grace to understand. They will be gentle with you. Not only can they see the glimpse of the old you, they are attracted to the glow of the new you. 

Seeing and attraction aren’t the same things. Sometimes what someone is attracted to is covered in dust and old battle wounds. Most success stories don’t start off with someone who is perfect. They start off with someone who has epic potential. The help they find along the way can see the greatness on the inside of them. Great people have they eyesight to understand the beginnings of greatness. They are habitually attracted to it. They can see what might be around it, but they are attracted to what’s on the inside.

Don’t be fooled. You’re not an imposter, you’re just a beginner. Be humble. Your faith won’t fail you. God won’t drop you. Provision won’t pass you by. Stand strong on new territory. In just a moment you’re going to out-practice your past behaviors and be everything you imagine. But you’ll have to imagine what God says is true. That’s faith.

Have faith today.  Have faith that your future will be louder than your fall. Your new friendships won’t hold your failures against you. And your Father is forward thinking, He is just to forgive and focused on your freedom if you stay focused on your faith. 

Yesterday is just a GLIMPSE but your next steps are the glaring GLOW that those with the eyes to see are ready to embrace. Don’t let shame hold you back from new territory. Don’t let the residue of the old you embarrass you in a new world. GOD’s got GOALS for you. Your next level is success. You’re GOOD here. You belong. Step up to the plate. Get in the game. 

Your Gods best and the best can see it. Now take your position. Yesterday is just a reminder of how great today is.
